This-Land.org presents the 1st annual Home, Garden and Farm Permaculture Tour in the Cincinnati-Ohio River Valley Bioregion, on September 14th and 15th, 2013. The tour will feature homes and sites highlighting sustainable living techniques. At each site, guests will receive a guided tour, where they can learn how to implement the techniques demonstrated. Come, be inspired, and help to create a sustainable future for you, your family, and the greater community!
The Greater Cincinnati urban tour on Saturday, the 14th, will feature 11 homes demonstrating sustainable farming, backyard chickens, edible landscaping and gardens, and sustainable water and energy systems.
The rural tour on Sunday, the 15th, will feature 4 farms that have implemented sustainability practices on a larger scale. Demonstrations include edible landscaping, food forests, backyard chickens, swales and keyline design, market gardens and CSAs, solar energy, and much more. All rural sites are within one hour of downtown Cincinnati.
Individual tickets range from $15-25. Discounts are available for students, families, and carpoolers.
Tickets are available for purchase online. They are also available for sale or collection from 9:30 to noon on both days at the Growing Value edible perennial nursery: 4030 Spring Grove Ave.
