Basic Description
Join Amy as she redesigns her garden, plants, and maintains it to be photographed for her upcoming book, The Edible Shade Garden. 15 hours per month, February-August, 2025.
Specific Duties
- Learn from Amy in applying permaculture principles and landscape design concepts as she redesigns her garden in preparation for her book’s photography, and have an opportunity to provide input.
- Work alongside Amy to physically move soil, prepare beds and pathways, plant, weed, and harvest. Must have the ability and willingness to do physical work including bending, lifting, shoveling, etc.
- Weekday availability and flexibility to work around weather conditions is ideal.
Qualifications
- Motivated individual who enjoys working outdoors. Physical labor is required.
- A willingness to learn and take instruction.
- Formal education in permaculture or experience in agricultural/landscape work a plus.
- Must have reliable personal transportation. Location is in the northeast suburbs, 30 minutes from downtown Cincinnati.
Expectations and Compensation
- Position is for 15 hours per month, February-August, 2025. Weekday availability is ideal. Start and end date, as well as hours, are based on weather conditions and the needs and timing of crops and harvest.
- Compensation is $15 an hour plus 1/3 of the harvests made on the days worked.
