Learn how to capture rain and store it in the landscape while irrigating gardens of all kinds. Visit a .10-acre residential permaculture site in its 4th year of development. See two types of rain harvesting techniques and the edible landscape that is supported by them. Some of the rain capture system components that will be discussed are: rain barrels, rain gardens (including subterranean), swales, overflow, and system design basics. This class will be mostly inside with some time outside to see the rain systems. Now’s the time of the season to finalize your system design so you’ll be ready to break ground when the weather breaks!
